I started of my day thinking that I am going to be defeated by the progress of technology. What I really mean is that I am finally getting my self a cell-phone; one that is relatively technologically up-to-date.
Turns out that is not the case. I am finally defeated in my insistence of partaking the Lord’s supper.
I insisted not to take any communion because I felt I was not ready to partake in such a holy communion. Today I was convicted. Pastor Ray said that if anyone does not believe that Christ is their savior, then s/he should restrain her/himself from partaking the Lord’s supper.
I felt the time was right to finally take a concrete and commitment-binding action to profess my faith in Jesus Christ.
Part of delaying this for a really long time was the thought that I need to deal with certain sins of mine first. What I realized is that Jesus’ cross has allowed me to partake in this [also read: only because of His grace]. I was once reminded of Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now I understand the importance of being involved in a community as a Christian. [I felt the biggest symbolism for this is partaking in the communion].
Also, this doesn’t undermine my attempt to deal with that particular sin of mine. It affirms my will and commitment to deal with this sin. I have faith that Jesus has the power and is delivering me out of that Egypt.
In Christ,

A really moving question: Do I know what it means to be forgiven?

Today, Prof. Tom Hou told the class that Harnack inequality is something to look for! Apparently, it came up in the proof of Poincare conjecture as discovered by Perelman.
Also, regarding this link: they call it batik, I call it diffusion process!
7 “Two things I ask of you, LORD;
do not refuse me before I die:
8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.

Some passages to follow up: Luke 23:48, Ezekiel 20, Ezekiel 36.
A really good article.
Procrastination is an impulse; it’s buying candy at the checkout. Procrastination is also hyperbolic discounting, taking the sure thing in the present over the caliginous prospect some day far away.
Also from the article:
You must be adept at thinking about thinking to defeat yourself at procrastination. You must realize there is the you who sits there now reading this, and there is a you sometime in the future who will be influenced by a different set of ideas and desires, a you in a different setting where an alternate palette of brain functions will be available for painting reality.
